Thank you to everyone who has joined us on this journey so far. We started this site because we know there are people out there, just like us, who have found their passion but not someone to share it with. Sure, there are a lot of places online where you can create a profile and share your thoughts, pictures and videos. Most of these sites are designed with a generic user in mind. The idea behind GeekPlusOne, and what makes us different, is that every feature of the site is designed to provide you with new ways to express your unique personality and meet others who are just as original. What you see now is only the beginning.

Chillin in the Lounge!

We really want to encourage communication and open all channels available to relate and engage with your community. If you are interested in introducing yourself and meeting others just like you, please attend our "Open Lounge Night".

When/Where? This Saturday, April 19th, at 8pm EST/ 5pm PST we invite all members to join us in the lounge for a meet and greet. BYOR (Bring your own refreshments) :)

Geek of the Week Competition

Here's how it works. The first member to remain Geek of the Week for five consecutive days will win a $50 Best Buy gift certificate! How do I become Geek of the Week? It's easy. Tell as many friends as you can about GeekPlusOne using our Tell a Friend feature. When your friends come to the site using the link provided in their e-mail and sign up for an account, you receive a referral. The member with the most referrals will be the new Geek of the Week. To qualify, each new, referred account must upload at least one picture and have a complete profile section.

Intro Video Contest

Create a video introduction and upload it to your account. The GeekPlusOne team will choose the four most original and creative Intro Videos. The community will then be able to vote on which of these videos takes the cake. The winner will receive a $50 Best Buy gift certificate! How do I create an Intro Video?

1. Log in and click on 'My Videos'
2. Click 'Add Video'
3. Enter a description about your video and select your video preview picture.
4. Upload your video. (Max file size - 8MB; Video format - avi, mpg, mov, wmv, mp4)
Note: This may take up to one minute.
5. On your 'My Videos' page, select your Intro Video by clicking 'Select as primary'.
Note: The Intro Video can be deselected at anytime using the 'Remove as primary' link.

Can I win both contests? Absolutely.

Both contests will run through May 31st.
